Last days

Bild
My last days are over. On monday we exchanged our presents in school. We had orientation this week, which means, we snuck into different jobs and got inspiration for what we maybe want to do later. It was very interesting and actually helpful. Today we had breakfast in school and met a few students, who talked about their different experiences. In the end of class it was time to say goodbye to everyone. It was obviously sad. They did’nt hesitate one second to introduce me since the very beginning and were allways trying to include me in everything. Everyone was so nice, the teachers, my class, ecspecially my hostfamily and of course my exchange partner. I made new friends, laughed a lot, learned more and more french and made wonderful memories. Tomorrow I will be taking the train back home. I will take all these memories with me and be forever grateful. So whoever is reading this or already red my blog, I hope you liked it. If you ever have the possibility to do such an excha...

Sixth week

My last whole week is coming to an end. Now I only have five days left in Lorient . It‘s crazy how fast time has passed. This week we had our last regular class, as we will have career orientation next week. This means we‘ll be finished earlier with the classes next week as well. Yesterday, we visited a nearby town and a small castle. It was very charming and we were very lucky with the weather. It was sunny and warm. Later we went through the little city and just looked around. We visited a church, which was stunning with all the details and the big coloured glasses. After we went to a small Christmas market and ate original breton crêpes , it was so good. Tomorrow we are going to give eachother the presents for secret santa . Im so happy, that I‘ll be able to see my family again soon, especially for the festive days. Of course I‘m still trying to enjoy my last days in France.

Fifth week

Monday we played Basketball in school again. Its allways very tiring, because we have school till 17:25pm on monday‘s. It starts to get more rainy every day, even though the first weeks were so sunny. In school, my class is doing secret santa this year, so we went shopping with friends to find matching, little gifts. We were all successful and bought little presents. We‘re going to exchange them in the last week before the holidays, so in the last week I will spend here. Sometimes I play a bit piano, when Im bored and the day before yesterday I finally won in checkers. Maybe the first and last time, but still. Yesterday the brother of my exchange partner came over for a visit. We all went into a cinema nearby and watched a mystery movie. It was in french, so obviously hard to understand, but it was fun.

Fourth week

Nothing really spectacular happened this week. I think that‘s because I‘ve settled in very well and everything has gotton into its usual routine. The only thing I could think of, which was really unexpected, was the fact that we spontaneously visited the grandma of a friend. We had a little chat, which was really nice and visited a beach nearby . Also did we have a lot of sunshine and nice weather this week and were in the city again. Yesterday, I also walked through the city by myself, just to take a look around and to enjoy the sun. At school, I‘m being actively involved in the lessons, but fortunately, I‘m never pressured. We have theater on every Fridays in the afternoon, and that‘s actually very funny, on one hand because of the different language and on the other hand because of the little games, we‘re playing. Sometimes I‘m a bit confused, because I didn‘t understand right away, but I‘d say, that makes the situations even more funny. So, yeah I‘m very happy here and still curi...

Third week

This week we were out and about in the city again. I bought a few things. I‘ve also slowly developed my own habits, for example, I always go jogging on the school sports field on Thursdays. This thursday, I saw a bit of the sunset behind the buildings, as I was running in the evening, which was stunning. I also played a lot of chess and checkers with my exchange partner, and I have to admit that he might be better than me. I also had a class test in english this week in which I had to write in french, because it was a mediation task . It wasn’t too bad, I think. Today my exchange partner and I did face masks together, which I still had from home. It was fun. Tomorrow we‘re going to play basketball with friends.

Second week

The second week also flew by. We visited a few beaches, did some shopping for a day, and played Basketball together. I‘m slowly getting used to the differences and gathering new impressions every day. Often times there are also many heartwarming and funny moments in my host family , which is of course very nice. I‘ve also found new connections at school, which makes me very happy. My exchange partner and I are already besties . I‘m very thankful for it and curious for the next week.

First week

I have been in Lorient, France , for exactly one week now. The Journey was very nerve-wracking, as the trains in Germany were running late again. After a 16-hour train ride and a lot of exitement, I finally arrived at my host family . I was greeted very kindly and have felt very comfortable here since day one. I‘ve already met a few new people at school and snuck into the classes. My exchange partner and I have also done a few things. He showed me a bit of Lorient, we went on a little bike ride and last night we were at a basketball tournament at a stadium near to us. This afternoon we will go to a little village nearby. Im exited for the next few weeks and experiences and would love to share them with you!
